The Alternative Olympics has arrived in Wales. For those who have seen the Monty Python ‘Silly Olympics’ sketch, think back to brilliant sports on offer in those scenes and you’re not really too far off.

Events include gravy wrestling, wife carrying, bog snorkeling, Russian egg roulette, underwater rugby and three-inch stiletto racing. It’s an event open to worldwide competitors, but perfectly catered to the intrinsic silliness of our jocular nation.
