View Full Version : Dilemma of a plant savior/thief.

So the house next to mine got foreclosed on about three months back and the bank which took possession hasn't been maintaining the property. They weren't watering the grass or any of the potted plants the old owner left behind so I took it upon myself to water the lawn and the potted plants since no one else was doing so. I even mowed the lawn on two occasions just so the house next to mine wouldn't look like crap.

The potted plants weren't doing very well and they honestly looked like they were dying (all their leaves were falling off, etc...) so I took three of them which looked like they could be saved, moved them into my backyard, and nursed them back to health. Yesterday some dirt bag real estate agent came by for the first time in months, apparently noticed three of the plants were missing, and then put up a sign declaring plant theft was a crime and do not steal more plants. WTF? They literally just left them there to die, the ones still there are dead, and the only reason the lawn is still alive is because I watered it and mowed it during the months they neglected it.

So do I take the tomato, pepper, and onion plants back or do I just keep them and give the bank the finger? What to do, what to do? :violin:

Nuke the house next door from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Return the plants and charge them for taking care of the plants.

Kill the dirt bag real estate agent and bury him in the garden as extra plant fertiliser. That way you get to keep the plants you stole - you thief!:gotit:

No worries, you'll be released on parole soon enough.

I put them back but resisted the urge to post a snarky come back sign.

How would they know it was you? Also, I would have kept them as payment for all the work you've done on the property. You could have also just contacted them and told them what you'd been doing - perhaps you could have come up with a deal.

Instead it seems innocent plants are now going to die... :(

Yeah, you should leave 3 extra plants.

Or fill a C-130 with flyers claiming that plant theft isn't illegal and dump it over their town.

Or maybe discuss something about winter plants and summer plants...
