Hello all you Counterglowies,
I am now sitting in an ACed condo overlooking the warm and inviting Caribbean Sea. Or should I just have a quick dip in the pool?
Near the horizon, looking west, is a fine, white lace-like filigree of calm breakers outlining the barrier reef. If someone would cut down all of those pesky coconut palms, the view would be perfect.
Dinner tonight will include at least some of the following: cold Belikin beer, rum punch, fresh lobster, shrimp or red snapper. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
OBTW, what are you guys up to?

p.s. I hear the octopus ceviche is excellent this time of year.

:confused:Where do you live? Someplace backward where fresh seafood is considered to be breaded frozen catfish fingers?
Yes, octopus, shrimp, lime juice, red onion, a little fresh serrano, a dash of cilantro.
U gotta problem wit dat?

When I was in college one of my coworkers at the Home Depot was from Belize and he used to get us Belikin, not great but not bad (I'd certainly not turn it down). As for dinner, why settle for just one? Order the lobster, the shrimp, and red snapper. :b:

Ah, but it isn't that simple. Belikin has a monopoly on beer production here in Belize. The upside is that it isn't bad beer and that there are at least 4 varieties. My favorite is the Stout (6.0 % abv). The bad thing is that it only comes in 284ml bottles.:(

As the waxing moon shines down on the alabaster-colored coral sands I, me thinks, drank the last Belikin Lager, Premium, Lighthouse Lager, and Stout in the whole country.
Sorry, I would consider bringing some rum but Santa sez that you have been a bad boy and you should only expect a piece of brown coal in your stocking, or do you wear pantyhose, this year.
Maybe next time dude.

Well, I'm not dead yet.
I escaped the dangers of the jungle by the width of the hair on my chinny chin chin.
Happily, found a new source of Belikin. I met the owner of the brewery and he let me have a couple of kegs to go.
Next stop Orange Walk Town.

Well we are back own the beach.
Yes, I put the lime in da coconut and I drinked it all up.
There is also a local concoction called "bitters" made out of rum and medicinal herbs. It is suppose to cure whatever ails you. It kind of tastes like dirt. At least it hasn't killed me yet.

SP, how ya doing? You must be out of college by now.

A paraphrase of Rick Santorum: "No health care for poor people! Still more tax cuts for the rich! Oh, and I want to take away your pension."

Believe it or not some dumb asses still support him too because he talks about outlawing abortion and mentions Jesus a lot. Meanwhile Republicans made him one of their most senior party leaders. No joke.

Thank you all for your kind words. I know my absence was painful for all of you.
Now that I am safely back in California, USA, I can be honest about my experience in the great French Republic.
The French were great, most knew some English.
The museums were great and greater.
The food was just OK; too rich for my delicate Cal palate (Italy is better imho).
Paris Metro, great.
Best castles in the world.
Lots of formal gardens, I don't like gardens.
Cool prehistoric sites.
You should see how hansom I am in my authentic French beret.

That is about it. Home for the next couple of months. I will now continue to ignore all of you ignorant posers. :bounce:
