Your wife is a wise woman!

Beautiful seafood, olives, bakery, meats ( their italian sausage is the best! ), wines, produce contracted from local farms , sushi

Also, my wife says Wegman's has good prices. If they're going to be stocking local produce, we might be able to skip the extra trip to the farmer's market for produce each week!

Strawberries have been in the last two weeks.

The WoW thing was just a guild asplosion combined with a family emergency. I have no urge to go sift through that wreckage and try to help rebuild over summertime.

They do stock local...and will have a list of farms and when the veggies due in. Greatest website evah for a supermarket!

The girl's dad is off to Harrisburg Wegman's this coming weekend. HE goes visit his dad ( Alzheimer's ) Strawberries on the list :D

Ooh. Lots of good Amish food in the Harrisburg/Lancaster area, too.

and Lebanon Bologna!

I love Wegmans, but not so sure about the "good" prices. Some things are worth more and you're willing to pay for it, but stock items not so much (in my experience).

zmama

Compared to Kroger and Giant Eagle ( the crappy stores here), the prices are good

Is that a relative of Lemon Curry?

Awesome, and smelly. When our house became the family hunting camp once a year, great-uncle Spike from Lancaster would always bring some. Was was.

What a bunch of 'wanabees'. U do not hold a flickering candle to the Central Coast farmers markets. We have them every day of the week, uz lozers. BTW, we get fresh seafood, cheese, n live music.
If we didn't have such immigration laws against white trash, I would invite you here. ;)
BTW do U speak Spanish?

only a few words, remembered from college

I read a story once about how great the produce is out on the west coast. Some guy called Steinbeck wrote it.

Pfft, Wegman's is on the north side of town, I live on the south side.

Our kinda crap but super convenient (less than 5 minutes walk) Superfresh officially declared it was closing the day before Wegman's opened. There are two other supermarkets not too far away, but not walking distance. :(

20,000 visitors to Wegman's on opening day. Glad I wasn't one of them. Maybe in a few weeks when it calms down.

Fucking Wegman's. I'm always hearing what a great store it is but the bastards refuse to expand out into my part of the country. Come to think of it I hear Krogger's is supposed to be cheap yet still pretty good too. When are these stores going to reach the west coast? We shared the goodness of Trader Joe's and a dozen other places yet you easterners hoard all of your good markets.

zmama
07-06-2011, 11:56:34
Kroger is meh... Wegman's is a family owned company and most likely won't expand too much.
Trader Joes is ALDI, since 1979 ! :D

MDA

Nothing, In-Laws have been visiting for the last week.

Well, nothing from Wegmans. I'm eating Krispy Kreme donuts right now.

Don't eat too many, your summer clothes won't fit.

Not after all the ice cream cones and milkshakes I keep taking my 10y old niece out for. It would be impolite to buy her stuff like that and not have some myself.

That kid consumes dairy products at a fantastic rate.

We got a Krispy Kreme open in Cardiff just recently. Obviously I had to try them for research purposes! Very nice. I think the place still has massive queues.
