View Full Version : I'm in the finals, I'm in the finals, I'm in the finals

Of the Champions League. It's Treble time. FA Cup...won. League...won...CL Final...up next against Lazio. I've abandoned the 4-4-2 and gone to a 3-5-2. It's made a huge difference over the last half of the season. I've trounced everyone.

And yes I just started this thread because I was bored. Not because it was important.

Oh and I've got a girlfriend.

That's more likely.

Sorry had a bit of work to do.

I'd hate to tell you all but IT IS TRUE!!!!

21-05-2002, 15:52:21
I can't believe that actually worked. Nice one!

21-05-2002, 16:14:11

You can apply that to the announcement of your choice.:)

I don't know whether to congratulate you or offer condolences. :)

We have a fiction forum

I won the CL last year with Valencia and beat United in the final. Also won the Spanish Cup and then both Super Cups.

Due to an unfortunate misclick, I deleted that game .

I should have been an ad agent like Ming.

An alarmbell went off in the counterpoint forum. Something about hell freezing over. Did Venom meet DK then?

No wonder when Satan came to me in my daily prayer ritual he was wearing a parka.

The sun shines on dog's ass somedays. Must be my lucky day.

21-05-2002, 21:01:55
It could be sarcoptic mange.

21-05-2002, 21:42:09
Either way. Something's happening.

21-05-2002, 21:50:10
OABTW, I usually find that, with good wing-backs, 3-5-2 (or 5-3-2) results in more goals for, less bookings, and if you play someone as a supporting striker, that player can turn a season for you.

4 defenders with at least 1 DM is much better for keeping them out, though: Deportivo (in the game) play with 3 DMs, two wide men, 4 defenders and a centre forward, and rarely concede more than 15 a season.

21-05-2002, 21:56:06
The success I've had with a 3-5-2 (2 defensive mids) and one attacking mid supporting the 2 strikers is amazing. I hardly ever get scored on and I'm averaging almost 3 goals a game. Plus I'm utilizing my players better. I'm really strong at the DM this season so everything is coming together.

21-05-2002, 22:02:49
Yeah, but you need to have two really good centre mids in that case, as they can be overwhelmed. Of course, with Keane there that isn’t going to be a problem, but I had lots of players who were good but inconsistent there.

The centre backs get a really easy ride in this formation, too.

21-05-2002, 22:17:48
Oh I sold Keane. I've got 2 Dutch guys. Van Bommel and Van Der Leegte. Van Der Leegte is world class. Van Bommel is close. Scholes or Joe Cole play in front of them and Montella and Morientes or Ronaldinho are up front. Beckham on the right, Giggs on the left.

I also happen to have the best central defender in the world. Barcelona offered 57 million pounds for him. I told them no. That was so much fun.

21-05-2002, 22:38:06
Nesta? Cannavarro? Ayala? Thuram?

Wouldn’t Ronaldinho be better behind the front two, in a bit of space?

21-05-2002, 23:09:17
I haven't tried Ronaldinho behind the front 2. I'll give that a go. He's such a power though going forward himself I like to keep him as my spearhead.

Defender by the name of Cesar. Spanish guy.

22-05-2002, 05:34:20
The real question, given the way this thread has gone, is which are you more excited about?:D

22-05-2002, 09:26:12
That's got to be an Own Goal. How can a girl compete with Championship Manager?

22-05-2002, 11:58:01
She'll take all my money and leave me...but Championship Manager is forever!

22-05-2002, 12:54:23
Then she'll go away poor.

22-05-2002, 13:50:50
That'll show her.

22-05-2002, 16:58:30
I found that moving Aghahowa (great at heading and finishing) behind a more skilful front two worked wonders when the chips were down. They would tie up the markers and lay it off or cross it for him to smash the ball home.

22-05-2002, 17:00:20
Of course, this only works against some teams, as always.

22-05-2002, 17:12:04
Damn those other teams.

24-05-2002, 12:03:42
I won! I won! I won! The Treble is mine!

24-05-2002, 12:10:50
What team are you playing as?

24-05-2002, 13:01:04
