I was only listening to it on the radio, but what a game!

Arse 4-0 up after 26 minutes, and still that score at 68 minutes.

Final score 4-4.

Unbelievable!

Diaby was an idiot to raise his hands but it was a very dangerous tackle by Barton. He got the ball but he still could have broken Diaby's leg. He also scythed Arshavin down in the first half and got away with it. The second penalty was the worst decision ever, except perhaps when Nolan got Szszesny in a headlock and threw him to the floor. Nolan should have been sent off, but no, the ref booked Szszesny.

Our collapse was appalling, but the ref was clearly bent.

Was he 'bent' when he disallowed a perfectly good Newcastle goal?

we've had that conversation before, it's still the same problem in the english game of letting the tackler off the hook rather than protecting the player... Newcastle should be more sympathetic about that, considering what happened to Ben Arfa... unfortunately for Diaby he wasn't injured by Barton (not for lack of traying), the situation would have been a lot more positive for him and Arsenal if he had stayed down with a serious ligament damage...

it's still very funny to me to see that in England you'll get vilified/crucified for bening acts of cheating (like rolling around the floor or a hand ball), but a violent tackle from behind who can put a player out for 6 month or life... well that's actually "part of the game" and "good committed play"... why don't these people watch rugby instead?

foottie is not about violent contacts, I have no interest in watching people barging into each other to make a point about football virility...

I think they should have both been sent off.

The ref had a crap game.

But he didn't purely make bad decisions in Newcastle's favour, and he wasn't the main factor behind the Newcastle resurgence.

agreed for the first part, but not the second; de facto, that's in contradiction with your first point, if he had sent Barton off as he should have, there probably wouldn't have been a resurgence (even if the resurgence itself owed to other factors)

Yeah, fair enough.

Basically the ref should have red carded himself.

In fact the disallowed Newcastle goal was the lino's call, and it might have even been his call on the 2nd pen as well.

Rosicky should have been shot for standing around playing the newcastle scorer onside rather than pushing up, but that's another matter.

Rosicky has dropped off the radar, what's up with him? is he washed out or simply good but not good enought to get a place in arse midfiled (which is pretty competitive)?

Washed out. I expect he'll be gone in the summer.
