Son. He had a swollen eye because he had fallen of some plaything. I told him he should be careful since the street is hard. Then he  and said: It wasn't on the street, it was on the ground!'.

Proper response to that backtalking bullshit:

"Next time it will be my fist, you little pissant."

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago.

We'd been having some issues with the PS3 randomly "crashing" - the screen switches to colorful static and the sound stops. After that, you can't do anything, so I'd been turning the PS3 off and on to reset it.

The 7 yr old boy told me it was a problem with the TV not the PS3, and all I needed to do was press the blue button on the TV remote. Lo, and behold! The PS3 hadn't crashed, the HDMI signal between the PS3 and the TV was desynched (or something) and the blue button (resynching to the PS3 channel) fixed it.

I later reseated the HDMI cable and all was well.

But I'm aghast that my son solved a problem his tech support-employed father didn't... They grow up so fast. On the bright side, I can make him get a job soon and retire with him supporting me. Almost as good as making Lady of Chicken write a bestseller and letting her be my sugarmomma.

You work in tech support so your instant reaction to any problem is a reboot, you just rebooted the wrong device.

Truth, but the older I get the more I'm convinced it should be my brain.
