You sold the house?

 thanks.

We have a contract to sell it. Supposed to close on the 28th of this month. Move out day for us is the 26th, and we're expecting to start the drive west on the 27th. Supposed to close on the house there on February 1.

Where are you moving to?

To the land of dental floss tycoons.

(Stevensville, MT, which is in the Bitteroot Valley about 25 miles south of Missoula.)

Now that you are moving to the awesome part of the continent, perhaps you will do more interesting things like visit glorious cities like Calgary.

Lurker
07-01-2011, 17:33:14
I visited Calgary probably 8 or 9 years ago. We spent a couple of days in the city, fished the Bow River, drove out to Banff for a day. Didn't get to Lake Louise. The only restaurant I remember eating at was the River Cafe, which I thought was pretty good. My wife has been there a couple of times since then for business. I liked it and certainly expect to go back, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Fucking hell, that's some serious bit of porch. My entire flat could probably fit in that, if you stood it on its side.

Mind you, I bet the nearest shop isn't too close if you need to pop out for a few more beers and a bag of peas.

Lurker
07-01-2011, 19:18:47
Grocery store isn't too far away, maybe 5 miles max. I'm not sure they eat peas in Montana, though. ;)

Congrats btw

Maybe just home.

Lurker Mansion!

it only lacks ionic capitals on column tops

PS: heating bills must be scorching, with all that windowed surface

I hope all that glass is double glazed.

great house Lurker, how big is it?

Lurker
10-01-2011, 16:46:37
3 BR, 2.5 baths. Rest of the house is one big "great room". I'm definitely scared of the heating bills given all the glass and the high vaulted ceiling, but the windows are supposed to be fairly efficient.

Dyl -- you're just a spoiled city slicker. ;) 5 miles isn't bad, hell I'm probably 3 miles from the grocery store currently.

Pretty sure you have a little store in the strip mall just down the main road? If you are coming out of NY it's 1 bus stop earlier than the one you get off at. 5-10 min walk if walking was possible.

Funko
10-01-2011, 16:50:52
We did walk it, which is why I know it's not possible.

Funko
10-01-2011, 16:56:35
12 mins (but we went through the forest, because that blind corner was too scary to walk round)

Dyl -- you're just a spoiled city slicker. ;) 5 miles isn't bad, hell I'm probably 3 miles from the grocery store currently.

I had to check the exact distance, it's 130 metres.

With 8 km, I'd be way beyond the city limit in suburban wasteland.... or on top of the Untersberg.

mr_B
11-01-2011, 06:36:02
130??
thats a serious hike man

Lurker

I must be thinking of a different store b/c you're right if they sell wine they probably sell beer. No peas, though, dammit!
