The eight-hour limited series of The Pillars of the Earth premiered on Friday 23 July in the United States (on Starz) in Canada (on The Movie Network and Movie Central), in Ireland (15 August on TV3) and Spain (14 September on Cuatro).

It will be screened in Italy (early October), UK (early October), Germany (mid-November) and France (December).

did any american or canadian CGer see that and care to report before it airs in EU?

I really wanted to watch it as I thoroughly enjoy the book (pop up version obviously). Unfortunately I am too poor to afford the channel it was on.

I hadn't heard of this. Then again, if it doesn't have a horrid plot and really tacky CGI effects, it doesn't usually make my radar.

Watched the first two episodes (three really, as the first was a double ep) back to back...

Really enjoyed it, but lots of poetic licence being liberally sprinkled already - like some massive papering over of events or out and out glaring inaccuracies - like Henry I dying and Stephen being made king apparently in 1138 instead of 1135!!! :eek:
