My Dad wants to introduce me to his new girlfriend. This is going to be outrageously weird.

Truthfully, it isn't that bad. My dad started dating my mom in the mid 60's when they were both in high school (he was a junior and she was a sophomore) so he had never dated anyone else. When my mom died he was lost for several years even though (after a year or two) my sister and I tried for several years to get him to date again but he wouldn't do it until, finally, after much encouragement, we noticed he had opened a match.com account. Honestly, it was a little weird to see him dating someone who wasn't our mom but the truth is he felt bad enough and he had never dated anyone in lone time so it was a new experience for him too (he hadn't dated anyone since he and my mom were young in the 1960's). It's good to see him happy again though and it is good to know someone cares about him. Sure, it's odd to see him with someone who isn't our mom but I know his girlfriend cares about him and I know he cares about her plus she's a really nice person.

It's never easy to see a parent move on, even if you spent several years telling them they should for their own good, but in the end you know it is the right thing to do.

I was impressed at how he went about it. He went to the 50th anniversary reunion of his grammar school, and pulled.
