The situation:

You have somehow ended up as the Off Topic moderator of an incredibly nerdy Civ site. Under the Off Topic umbrella is the "Sports Forum" where, much like our own sports forum, a large number of fantasy sports games reside.

Recently someone started a thread called "Fantasy Fishing" (which I think was a joke). Regardless, the dilemma is as follows. Do you start a copycat called "Fantasy Fisting"?

I did, obviously. Just wondering what you'd do.

I'd do that but only with a [serious] tag in the title thread to avoid confusion.

Funko
16-07-2010, 10:27:56
Good point, although it spoils the symmetry of the copycat somewhat.

Funko

Of course, I could edit Fantasy Fishing to add the serious tag too.

A better, nerdier copy cat thread might be Fantasy Phishing

[seriously serious]

does serious fisting involve the elbow?

Funko
16-07-2010, 10:49:17
Huh? It's about punching someone on the nose.

MDA

It's not Fantasy Elbowing you Drekkus!

Dyl Ulenspiegel
16-07-2010, 11:06:12
Then you should have written: "It's about punching someone on the nose with your fist"

Funko

But punch means a hit with a closed fist, that'd have been a tautology.

I thought copycat threads were much frowned upon at Apolyton?

Greg W
16-07-2010, 15:25:16
Maybe I should have read "moral dilemma 2" before posting that. :cute:

Funko

Some people there probably do frown upon them. JM and I are the moderators ( ) and neither of us give a crap.

Japher

a frown is a smile turned upside down... seriously, punch anyone who says that to you

Damn.

:(

I don't know how to use the Admin Tools.

I don't either. I have never thought of it as a problem.

He's amazingly versatile. He can be a foot rest, a place to put your beer, a coat rack and an underwater bridge designer all in one. If we could market him, I bet we could get 29.99 plus shipping and handling.

I was thinking the same thing as Greg.Tizzy does that too, though generally only after she's been drinking. Or I've been drinking.

which was that movie, where the famous actor was teaching street punching to the rookie, like:
- when you punch, keep your elbow high
- why?
- because if you miss with the fist, following thru with the swing your elbow will meet his mug
