Monty peaked in WWI

I was Monty and crushed everyone.

This time I'm the arabian guy and he's much better. Doing better despite going up a difficulty level and having a bad start location.

Removing the distraction of the differences 1UPT etc. it's surprisingly similar to CivIV.

So other than how they're different, they're the same?

No, CIV IV was better. And I don't say "slightly". But I also don't say "way" or so... Someone could crush me.

I don't really need that.

At least you weren't Gandhi. I hate that guy.

In my second game Ghandi got in a huff with me it didn't go well for him.

Playing with the expansions now. Some interesting stuff with the religions and extra leaders. Capturing capital cities seems to make everyone REALLY angry with you.

I'm Boudicca now (always play random leader), which was really cool, got to discover about all the religious stuff by accident as I got a pantheon and religion really fast without any effort just by not chopping down the forests.

It seems a bit easy though, on my 3rd full game on prince and walking it. I'm sure Prince on Civ IV took me a while to get to grips with, and generally I'd play on Monarch where I wouldn't always win.

Oh the new Civ V rule for domination victory about capturing capitals is really great though, I guess that's why they've put in the massive diplomatic penalty for doing it. Saves that boring endgame mopping up every last little city.

Well, be a man and turn the difficulty up to eleven. In my experience, on the top level you really need to have fingers in just about every pie. Losing focus in a single area can cost you the game.

Not sure if it's less of a challenge with the most recent expac (I only went up to G&K) so YMMV.

Well a funny thing happened after I posted that. Literally everyone declared war on me on the same turn (and we were mostly on the same continent). Was quite a struggle. The AI is quite crap at fighting, but against nearly 5 times the units I got smashed.

Serves you right you imperialistic running dog. :grrr:
