Since we're back from our last holiday in the US for over 3 weeks, my wife is now already planning the next one.

We came across this trip:

Vancouver - Tofino - Quadra Island - Telegraph Cove - Inside Passage - Stewart & Hyder (Alaska) - Smithers - Prince George - Wells Gray - Jasper NP - Icefields Parkway - Banff NP - Calgary

The description and the pics look great. Anybody any comments on whether this trip is as good as it seems? Or are there better options?

That trip is probably as good as it seems. The areas on there that I've been to are gorgeous.

Looks great. I'd have helped you out a bit when you are in Banff/Calgary but I'm there right now and flying back to Toronto (don't bother visiting there) on Sunday.

Asher

KLM flies direct to Calgary now, IIRC.

5 times a week on an A330 from Amsterdam.

We haven't had a real vacation in over a decade.

Jasper and Banff are top notch national parks among the best in the world if you go in high summer.

Looks really nice. Don't spend too much time in Smithers and Prince George, they're shit.

Vancouver, great.
Tofino, great.
Victoria, skip it.
Canadian wine, good, but overpriced.
Canadians, good, but over polite.

BTW, where in the great USofA did you visit this time?
Thanks ever so much for not stopping by.

Canadian wine is overpriced? I regularly buy bottles dirt-cheap, and it's still good.

Eh, we did a trip with a motorhome, last october. From LA to newport beach, Disneyland, Chino, and then a long trip through death valley, a few stops along the beautiful highway 395, into Yosemite national park, onto Sequoia national park, Bakersfield and the last few days at Malibu beach.

Sorry for not giving you any notice :o

About our next trip, everything is still wide out in the open. I'll keep you all posted on this exiting process of choicemaking.

Chino? Bakersfield? Orange County, God, you must have gone through Barstow too. I am surprised that you didn't shoot yourselves.
BTW, I see that you didn't drop in on LadyofChicken, her cats, her kids and husband (what'shizname). Could they have been hiding too?:cute:

Hey, RedFred. Also look out for a RV in the shape of a wooden shoe.
Just a heads up to our northern neighbors.

Those were family related. I must add that Chino has an awesome vintage aircraft museum, and that driving through the Central Valley along endless farms was an experience in itself.

I did shoot though, just not myself. A magnum .357. Pretty cool stuff.

Drekkus is being smart. Two people trying to organize a trip just get in each other's way. If she likes planning trips, why duplicate effort?

hey, let's make a thread like those where we write a story toghether, each poster adding a sentence, very often giving unexpected twists to the plot

only, this time it's a trip organizing thread and each poster adds a detail or a step of the trip
