View Full Version : Driver's License Renewal

$20 late charge, for a normally $20 fee, if you renew past your birthday. Mine was last month. This charged started... oh, 2 days ago! Motherfvcker!

Same for my tags!!!!!

Stupid BMV. Can't even call themselves a DMV like normal states. Normal states actually remind you when your license is about to expire.

fixed the tags for you

Had I done this on Monday it would have cost me $60 for tags and license

Today; $100.

It took me less then ten minutes

So you pay a driver licence renewal tax?

04-12-2009, 13:57:58
I hate taxes on the lazy/retarded. :(

04-12-2009, 13:58:41
It so was a lazy tax. Those bastards are the laziest of all!

Actually, this area is the first place I've ever seen government employees working efficiently. It's rather odd.

Well, 60$ renewal tax and 40$ lazy/stupid tax, or?

04-12-2009, 14:00:00
In this case it could have been a retard tax...

I hate taxes on the lazy/retarded. :(

I quite like the lottery.

Just be Mexican. They hand those things out to the "underpriveledged" like they're porn pamplets on the Las Vegas strip.

It's not too bad. When I lived in California it cost me about $500 to register my car and $80 for a new license. I can deal with $100 for everything.

What, per year?!

What, per year?!
Drivers License was only every 4 or so years. Vehicle registration was yearly, and smog check every 2 or so years which costs about 120 or so bucks, if you pass the first time. Cali is a rip off to own a car.

Vehicle registration yearly? Just for paying the vehicle tax?

04-12-2009, 19:18:09
It depends on your car, my 4x4 truck was just under $500 in registration and taxes a year.

I just ran a check on the CA calculator. If you purchase a new car today for $18,000, so that's like a pos honda or ford fiesta, and you live in Fresno, CA you will pay $295/year.

We're paying a bit under 400 € for 110 hp. It just looks a bit cumbersome to register your car yearly.

04-12-2009, 19:47:18
Generally it pretty easy, you get a bill in the mail, you pay it, they send you your tags. this year? Nothing, no notice, nada. Then, when we notice and try do the right think; fine. Wammo, thank you govment

It's what they are being there for. Being annoying and bureaucratic. Just like insurance companies. And governments seem to be the most vicious of the lot. Just look at the TV licence adverts.

04-12-2009, 20:59:10
Better than having your car towed/ticketed/etc due to lack of tags. That runs over 200$. And than you have to pay all fees/etc.

Heh. Here we have to register our cars yearly, pay a Pink Slip yearly (requires a check up of your car) and get a Green Slip yearly (compulsory 3rd party insurance). Licence is every 5 years, about $30 a year...

This is on a 2 litre, unmodified sedan.
$245 - Rego
$389 - Green Slip
$35 - Pink Slip
$30 - Licence (pro rata)

Getting screwed over at every stage: Priceless! :bash:

I think mine was about $150 when I taxed my 2.2l diesel for the year. I think the MOT was 45.
