I haven't seen a good review of it yet. That said, I think it looks cool, I likes The Day After Tomorrow a lot. Except from the shit wolves on the boat bit.

Except from the shit wolves on the boat bit.

Don't read the Booker-winning Life of Pi then.

Does it have shit wolves on a boat as well?

So I saw it. The usual Emmerich schtick. All the special effects were pretty awesome. There were a couple of neat ideas, wrapped up in a whole sea of extreme implausibility and downright utter disbelief! Seriously, most of the last half hour of an almost 3 hour movie, was totally cringeworthy!

If it wasn't for the amazing special effects and unintentional comedy bits, this would have been a totally shit movie - but then I knew it would be.

Kids would totally love it.

Special effects, etc 9/10. Storyline etc 2/10.

Quite enjoyed in myself. As directed by same director responsible for Indepence Day i knew what feel the film would have. Real popcron escapism stuff. Most of the action scenes were over top and totally implausible but even given the subject matter of the world about to end and most of it's poplulation getting wiped out it doesn't aim to get too downbeat and focusses on entertainment and thrills and spills with a bit of tongue in cheek humour. Watch out for the bit where you see a screen with an actor playing Arnie addressing California saying aomething along the lines of "In all of my character roles i never experienced anything like this"

I agree. What happened to him in the end was actually quite funny.

There were heart wrenching moments in there! Like when the daddy nearly drowned and when the doggy nearly got squished.
