View Full Version : A Dilemma

If you could press a button and you'd get one million pounds, but a random person you don't know would die, what would you spend the money on?

mr_B
28-10-2009, 15:44:07
beer cotton balls and motor oil o/c

Tizzy
28-10-2009, 16:10:26
Wine. And cheese. And a big house to put them in.

Funko
28-10-2009, 16:14:33
So, one with a cool dark cellar then?

Greg W
28-10-2009, 16:16:05
Wouldn't have any money to spend... :(

paiktis
28-10-2009, 16:23:04
Does that mean that the random person who would have died would have been you?

Fistandantilus
28-10-2009, 16:24:46
Greg does not know himself - FACT

paiktis
28-10-2009, 16:25:53
Know thyself!

Back!
28-10-2009, 16:48:23
Let's see...

(6 billion people on earth) * (1 million pounds) = 6 quadrillion pounds, aka 6 petapounds!

Must leave someone alive to buy things from, tho
How much is it, to buy the whole planet?

:smoke:

Funko
28-10-2009, 16:57:49
If you could press the button twice a second you'd have to press the button continuously for 95 years.

Back!
28-10-2009, 17:01:50
I'd hire some pressbuttonlaborforce with the first earnings
possibily someone well-trained at the old Olympics PC game

but: who will dispose of the 6 billion dead bodies?

Japher
28-10-2009, 17:10:32
1. I would make a list of all my enemies.
2. I would get to know everyone on the planet except those people on that list.
3. I would hire a hypnotist and make me forget who my enemies are.
4. I would push the button until my hypnotist has confirmed that I pushed the button enough times.
5. I push the button one more time to see what would happen.

I'd spend the money on Care Bears and smelling salts. You know, the normal kind of stuff everyone needs to have.

Greg W
29-10-2009, 01:56:46
Greg does not know himself - FACTI do actually. I couldn't live with the guilt. I'd be wondering for the rest of my life just who had died. Was it some young child with their life ahead of them? Was it a parent whose kids would now grow up without a mother or father?

In the end, you'd be murdering someone for your own profit. The only difference would be that you wouldn't be there killing them in person, you would be taking the cowards way out and killing them by pressing a button.

I couldn't do that, and I feel sad that probably 99% of the population could, if not would. :(

But as long as there's a 1 in 6,000,000,000 that I could kill Robbie Williams...I'll press that button...never mind the money :D

If you could press a button and you'd get one million pounds, but a random person you don't know would die, what would you spend the money on?

If someone gained one million pounds I hope they'd die. That guy would be fatter than Venom.

Funko
29-10-2009, 10:20:42
then Venom what?

Funko
29-10-2009, 10:21:05
Love that you "edited" it and still left the then Venom mistake. ""

Well, not to mention they look to have a heavy vehicle tow truck towing it. And no, I haven't "read" the linked article...

or should I just have used "voter's"?

Funko
29-10-2009, 11:27:32
Yeah, we choose to kill people every time we vote, just voting on which ones and how much money it'll save us.

Funko
29-10-2009, 11:35:56
In fact, voting for a low tax party is literally the same as shooting a poor little old lady in the face.

"Shooting" a poor little old lady in the face.

Greg W
29-10-2009, 14:43:43
I've heard of "harden" the fuck up. Never "grip" though...

I would "appreciate" you buying me the Unicorn though.

"that's" debatable

Greg W

You "could" have at "least" put the "quotes" around "debatable."

Funko
29-10-2009, 16:26:59
That wouldn't have been as "funny"

Greg W

This is about a movie with the exact same premise, is it? I saw a trailer about it the other day.

In which case, the answer is to pay off their debts and pay for medical care because being stupid Americans they don't have NHS.

Then bad, evil stuff happens.

Don't forget the evil stuff...

1 million pounds of what??

just kidding. Well, if I got pounds, then I suppose I would have to move to the UK just to spend any of it. That would be a plus right there. I suppose I could support myself until/if I got into a college there.

Look on the bright side Greg, the random person killed could be you.

btw on that note, i would like to meet the person who invents a random person killing button and then pays people to press it. but now i write that i'm somewhat reminded of oppenheimer et al.
