Mind you, the top google search does produce this place (http://www.roundtableconsulting.com/) in Sydney...

Maybe the Knights Templar moved it to Sydney in a move to throw others off the trail! :hmm:

In the middle of "A" continent.

Continental pole of inaccessibility (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pole_of_inaccessibility#North_America)
In North America, the continental pole of inaccessibility is in southwest South Dakota

There you go! The Icelandic Krona is in the toilet and it's half way between Europe and America so we could do Iceland.

And I could visit my detector!

Although from talking to the two guys who are going down in Nov, I think that conditions are pretty sparse. Even during the Antarctica summer.

I should have lots of vacation time some time next year, and will be in Europe.

For Antarctica that is the time to be down there. There are about 20 people from my new collaboration who work at getting our detector (Icecube, 1km cube deep in the Antarctica ice, almost exactly at the south pole) running.

There are also two, apparently, who stay there throughout the entire Antarctica winter with no way to leave. This is like a 8 month or something stay. Seems pretty impressive to me.
