I am trying to figure out what is on the other side of the world from me, using the internet, and am having a hard time. The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles, so I am trying to find something about 12,450 miles away, but can't find anything.

Help

Perth is pretty close...

The reason I am doing this is because I need to know where to move to be as far away from Rotterdam as possible.

If you're in North America you'll be in the middle of the Ocean somewhere.

I don't want the world, I just want your half.

I'm kinda blown away that my latitude appears to be south of the tip of Africa.

Awesome. Looks like I need to be just a little SE of New Zealand.

Thanks!

Google Maps has a function to do just this. Find where you live, go to "My Maps" then "Dig a hole through the Earth", and there you go...

Edit: That Zefrank link is better though.

Oh, maybe it's just a Google.co.uk thing. It's listed under "Featured Content" on the left.

I'm in the Atlantic Ocean. Nearest place would be the Island of Madalena (or with Madalena on it or whatever), I'm almost straight South of that...

Ahah, the Azores form the looks of it...
