Say I get married and divorsed, I wonder how the alimony would be regulated.
As a % of the money I make. SO if I make a lot of "blac" money (not refered to to the IRS) I'm honkey dorry

I'm in love that's why I'm thinking of these things.

she must be as crazy as me and there are few such out there

Alimony sounds like a name some inner city names their daughter... or someone who doesn't know English that well.

Unless your laws are way different to ours, you only pay alimony for kids you have together, not just for getting married and divorced. :p

Congrats on being insane... Er, I mean in...love, that's it.

But Vinny and I have two divorces each, so you got some catching up to do young man. :p

hmm the way it works in the UK is if you have kids together. then you pay 15% of your salary for the first child %25 for a second child(its a rule of thumb thou)
Allimony is only paid if the wife has stayed at home to bring the kids up concived during th marraige, if she worked while bring the kids up no allimony is due

In the US we have much more generous rules for alimony and child support. It can easily be 50% of your salary for one kid, and is probably more than 15% for no kids.

wow JM thats harsh

so someone who was more than able to go out and earn there own money can claim up 15% of your salary bugger that i wouldn't get married if I was american lol

13-06-2009, 06:23:14
Yeah, and people wonder why American guys don't want to get married. ;)

So if you make 600k, your wife makes 200k, and you have been married more than 20 years with <750k of assets, you will owe her 7700 a month. If you make 60k, and she makes 20k, and you have assets of <250k after 12 years of marriage, she will get over 900 a month in alimony.

Child support isn't really considered alimony here, it is a separate thing.

That site is Florida btw.

yeah Child support is seperate here too

Here in the UK i think its more about could she live on 200k if the answer is yes then get on with it

the property would be slip 50/50
