It may be against popular wisdom, but I find them best with a spicy syrah.

nah, I kebab them, literally.

Best revenge for finding the little bastards in my vegtable patch or eating my dahlias is to skewer them on those long BBQ bamboo skewers. Once round the garden per day and I have them undercontrol. The important bit is to leave the little tower of skewered slugs and snails on the skewer stuck in the ground in the area they come in to the garden from like little totem poles.

Warns the bastards of the fate awaiting them if they enter my domain.

Yikes. Not sure which smilie to use in response to that.

Beta, the heads on skewers a great method of organic control. Kudos.

isn't torturing animals the first step towards being a psychopath?

i put salt on a slug once. while it was frothing to death in agony i felt guilty so i tried to bathe it with milk before i stomped on it.

i had the same experience (apart from the milk and the stamping)

i still feel bad about it.

when we were kids (a 20 families condominium with 30 kids ranging age 5 to 8 and a big garden) we used to pick up slugs, place them on anthills and watch nature take its natural course

we were naturalists

that included exploding small firecrackers in frogs asses
and test lizard tail regrowth, after we stunned them with our rubber-band rifles

all those species are longtime extinct from that garden ecosystem

puring alcohol down an ant nest and lighting it up was also fun. from a scientific point of view.

I began stealing Vermouth Cinzano from a bottle mom kept in the fridge (albeit I mixed it with milk) at the age of 8

concerning ants, I too must have set them on fire a couple times, but mainly I preferred to flood their nests, I thought that gave them a bit more of a chance to escape (and to study their strategy)
Or once I was at the seaside guest in some family friends villa, I placed few of them on a leaf and pushed it afloat in the middle of the pool
