There is an advert for British Airways that plays on the monorail between north and south terminals at Gatwick. All I remember is "Drink the Local Brew"

Did that one very well.

Well, you don't need to know the name of the brew globally, i.e. where's not local, or it would defeat its own purpose

And locally, they know it for you. By definition.

- Hello, I'd like to drink a brew
- Which one?
- The local one!
- Very well, here it comes! <Jim! A local one for this gentleman!>

drink the local brew in Dutchland in not difficult.

Let's say your name is Will and you are visiting Rotterdam.
The local beer is Oranjeboom and the person named Will will find it on his way to the airport. Just 50 meters from the place he was staying.

Local brew in Edinburgh was Deuchars IPA, very nice. Also Avalanche. Very light, hoppy.

OK.

After years of experimenting, a friend of mine got quite skilled at homebrewing.
Should you happen to be in the area, I might arrange to get you invited at his home.

But that is somewhere you are local to?

Keep some of his beer for 20 years.

Bru makes me smile, I'll bet Asterix & Obelix's special drink was actually Bru.

I was in rural essex and had a local brew called Britannia brewed down the road in buntingford.

Pretty good, quite nutty.

We now have 5 micro brews in town.
There has to be something for everyone of you wankers out there. Just don't expect me to show you around unless you are buying. You know what a dutchman I am. :cute:

Manchester - Joseph Holts Bitter

Couple of pints will give you the 'Holts Nose' (red, large and lumpy)

Realistically, after sampling European beers, ours don't compare.

Bees Knees is nice. Tastes rather honey-ish.

Problem is there's nice-ish beers, just nothing I'd write home about.
