is this cos they played one of my songs over the animated picture nominee montage or because winslett got an oscar?

'cause of Winslett, the oscar didn't go to you did it?

You also got played over an advert for Richard Hammond's kids TV show the other day.

i thought it must be about me and not the person from reading who the oscar went to.

that's the biggest audience one of my songs has ever got so i'm quite proud of myself.

Well, congrats to Winslett and Protein!

But more Protein, cos I don't know the Winslett bird.

You got any gigs coming up in Cardiff, BTW?

I realise now from this thread that Oscars got awarded last sunday.

I've watched TV news as usual and I didn't get a single comment or promo or anything about it.

coincidence, I took a day off yesterday as I had to see a doctor, and after it I decided to see a couple of movies as a reward.

I choose a double Winslet.
Revolutionary Road, as I had glimpsed a couple trailers on TV.
The Reader, just cos it was on there too, and I saw Winslet and Ralph Fiennes (one of my fetish actors) in the cast, despite I had not yet heard or read a single line about it *ever*.

Towards the end of The Reader, I cried.
I thought, she'd deserve the Oscar for it
Only today I realise she actually had already got it!!!

PS: screenplay by David Hare, one of my fetish writers too

the ohter movie was instead a bit disappointing, in a way

oh, and congrats Protein
(albeit I haven't heard a single note by him yet :-o)

I was expecting a The Reader/Reading pun. I'm disappointed, MoSe.

disappointed in MoSe not making a pun.

I'm disappointed in Fist.

you know,
when in 1989 I was getting back home with my Dyane 6 from Portugal/Spain thru France, I stopped in Arles, near Montpellier, only because before leaving I had seen with a friend a movie called La Lectrice (meaning The Reader as well (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095511/releaseinfo#akas), actress Miou-Miou would have deserved an oscar too imho), we both really liked it, and I wanted to gift her the book in French.

I asked please to the clerk if she could put the bookshop stamp inside the cover, to prove that it got bought in Arles, where the movie was set. She argued with me 20 minutes that it was pointless, as that was only a movie choice but Arles didn't get actually mentioned anywhere in the book. She gave in in the end, but she remained convinced that I was an idiot. Typical french attitude

French are right sometimes, I guess.
