View Full Version : I took Asher off ignore.

A few months back I clicked one of those links which automatically put Asher on ignore. I found the new improved CG kind of nice so I left him on ignore but I found myself clicking to see his posts half the time so I've now taken him off ignore.

On one hand I can now be more lazy as I don't have to click the link when I want to read his comments but on the other hand I now see his posts all the time. It's a double edged sword.

You are a double-edged sword, and both edges are made of shit born of failure.

I feel very comfortable with the car I drive, the house I own, and the life I live. I don't think many people would consider it a failure. :)

You know Mose, you will go to hell if you compile a list of awful puns that runs on for too long. FACT!

Minus one on the list isn't going to help you much.

Oh, and Spartak sighting. You haven't been around much lately.

No, I haven't. :-( Working stupid hours at the moment. I'll hopefully be moving on to another post in September and I hope to have more free time then. I'm boring anyway so not having me around probably increases the quality of the forum anyway. That's not something you expect to see often, quality and counterglow in the same sentence

Sounds like the dreaded 'Danish Pastry Effect'...

MoSe
28-01-2009, 16:01:54
???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_pastry

During the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy in 2006, several Iranian groups advocated changing the name of Danish pastry given its association with the source country of the offending cartoons.[4] The Iranian confectioner's union designated "Roses of the Prophet Muhammad" as the new name for Danish pastries made in the country as of 15 February 2006, although compliance with the new name in bakeries was mixed.[4] Related to this, many protesters, angered by the pictures of Muhammad, boycotted Danish goods. "Roses of Muhammad" (Persian: α γΝγΟی "gole mohammadi", literally: Muhammed flower) is a traditional Persian synonym for rose flowering shrub

So it would be like renaming French Fries to Freedom Fries...

...perhaps Theocratic Hegemony Pastries!

No one wants to admit that the pastries are theirs. IIRC the Danes call them Viennese Pastries - the Viennese don't own up to Viennese Pastries blaming the Danes in return. I bet they'd have had a war about it if they actually had a common border...

I guess a pastry tastes better if it comes from somewhere other than where you are eating them.

Dyl Ulenspiegel
28-01-2009, 20:05:28
We didn't need a common border for that in 1864.

hhmmm, OTOH, we DO own up the Wienerschnitzel, calling it "Cotoletta alla Milanese"...
