Larry Flynt:

"People are too depressed to be sexually active, this is very unhealthy as a nation. Americans can do without cars and such, but they cannot do without sex.

"With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It's time for Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America."

Larry Flint is doing this to mock other industries, right?

economic misery schmeconomic schmisery.

i'm fine. although i don't have a credit card or a mortgage and i'm in an industry that is recession-proof.

i wonder if people are just miserable because the media tells them that they should be worried about their massive debts now when they were in ignorant bliss before.

i should point out that i've been locked in a windowless studio for a month so i've lost all perspective on the outside world. is it really all that bad out there? it's certainly cold.

Really? I thought the music industry was suffering.

it's had it's recession i think. economic downturns generally make the music industry boom or radically change. lots of people are excited.

Or it'll radically change to something different to what you do.

own goal. Read the article:

Flynt said hes pretty sure he wont get it and wants to make a point with his request.

"I'm dead serious about making congress look stupid, said Flynt. I think the American people should have more to say about those bailouts and how they are spending the money. These politicians have never handled money wisely since I've been in this world and I don't think they are going to start now."

I think his whole stunt is a really schmartje and funny way to make a very good and valid point.

Protein, your music is way too techno-cheeky for the recession. You need to do a proper depressed album, or a political album, or both.

from our so-obvious-that-even-drekkus-gets-it department:

Most lawmakers have called the request for bailout money a publicity stunt.
