Anyone know some good places to get work if you are an architect?

So I was at a holiday party last night and I met this architect and told her I knew an architect and that he designs underwater bridges. She was thoroughly confused.

So then I talked to her friend who is a fabric designer and I learned all about fabric designing.

I don't understand what's confusing about an underwater bridge
