Ha. Ha. We don't have to kiss royalty's ass, but you all do. We fought a war not to have to.

And what are those big black Q-tip hats for on your royal guards. I mean, what the fuck!? Don't they cover their eyes AND prone to falling off? I mean, who came up with that?

protein

She's in charge of you. You are pink on the map.

Hah. She's not the boss of us. And she knows it. Which is why she minds her damn business.

You belong to her. Isn't she on your money?

KrazyHorse

Besides, if we took her off the money we'd have to think of twice as many designs to put on there.

Not a Quebec nationalist. I'll split Greenland with you. How about that?

That's what I meant/ On neutral ground they win. If they try to come here we sink most of their ships as soon as they get within 600 miles of our coast. If they think the Argies gave them trouble then they'd be in for some real pain against an actual AF.

Actually there was substantial conflicted emoitions and I felt them myself with the Malvinas affair. Brtis don't understnad it, but there was some sympathy to the Argewntines. I'm glad Ronnie played it smart and helped Maggie under the table though. He knew better than ?I.

DO you think you guys could take thme in the open sea? What about invading England? I want Land's End.

KrazyHorse
25-11-2008, 23:38:38
I think that our land based aircraft would make mincemeat of their "carrier" aircraft. And once that happens their stuff is just a floating target.

KrazyHorse
25-11-2008, 23:42:18
Our navy couldn't compete with theirs in open sea. But nobody except the US has a credible fleet of sea-based aircraft (I don't think. Russia?). Harriers aren't in same class as our CF-18s

KrazyHorse
25-11-2008, 23:45:35
That will change, IIRC, when the F-35 aircraft get up and running. I think the UK is building carriers capable of deploying F-35s. By then we'll have F-35s too (though they'll probably be better aircraft-for-aircraft than the STOVL variant to be placed on Brit baby carriers)

I've heard a little birdie (actually a few little birdies) whisper that we might have a bit of an ace in the hole when it comes to nukes, and that people might want to think twice about threatening us with them...

Not that we would ever consider violating the NPT, of course.

I realize that you are just speculating. But, Kitty, these are very different things. And I don't think "quickly" would help you in the event of an invasion. In the event that you just decided you needed your own. Or were being pushed around slowly, sure...you could get going. But it takes a while to put nukes together.

KrazyHorse
26-11-2008, 00:36:50
And I don't think "quickly" would help you in the event of an invasion.

a) I am speculating, based upon certain things I was told (which are open secrets in Can physics community)

b) "quickly" meaning a few hours or days. As in, the parts are already sitting around. Not that we would need to design them and fabricate parts

c) If tensions rise to that level we will have some time to decide that readiness needs to move forward

TCO
26-11-2008, 00:45:40
kitty...what makes you think those parts will work? Besides, if you are that far, why not just stick them together?

KrazyHorse
26-11-2008, 00:47:36
The theory is that you aren't actually a nuke power until they are stuck together. Or so I've been informed.

TCO
26-11-2008, 01:01:39
Who cares about the fucking theory? If you have the peices, have them stuck together. They're secret anyhow.
