....that I would be happy and heading off down the pub when my shares fell 40% in one morning.

My 401k has gone to hell in a hand basket so I would love to share a beer with you. If things keep up as they are then my retirement plan will be reduced to becoming a Walmart greeter.

Housing finally tanked in our neighborhood, down about 20% and our home credit line got slashed. We won't be moving soon. Don't need to anyway, just got this place fixed up the way we want it.

Other people (especially ones that took big adjustable rate mortgages) have it so much worse I don't dare complain.

My jobs on the line, if I get made redundant I don't have any savings, I'll have to move back home and the bailiffs will be on my back

I'm not so sure that my firm needs strat weenies right now.

How much does unemployment pay and for how long? Maybe I could take an enforced sabattical and lose my gut and organize my files and...stuff.

Either that or tell the Mexian billionaire, I will help him turn around Circuit City.

People are getting tight. On a normal day a year ago I'd make about $40 in change. Now I'm lucky to make $25. Don't people realize how expensive food and beverage are?

My mom was in Whole Foods on a Friday evening (normally packed) and there were almost no customers there. Everywhere she stepped there was a store clerk ready to wait on her. But McDonald's has had a nice recovery...

People are really humnkering down. Doesn't matter if your project has a 20% IRR, they just don't want to approve large cash expenditures.
