We went to France the other week to buy wine and when we got back we had too much wine for our existing wine racks, so we bought a new 54 bottle wine rack.

We had to assemble it, and it took about an hour because I made some mistakes. I guess you could do it in 30 minutes. The really funny thing was that in the catalogue it said it was a 54 bottle rack, so we guessed that would be 6 spaces by 9 spaces but actually it is a 56 bottle rack, 7 spaces by 8 spaces.

Now we have somewhere to put all our wine, but there are empty spaces on the rack so I want to buy some more wine to fill it up.

I put 3 bottles of ale on the rack too.

If you need somewhere to put wine, I recommend getting a wine rack. It really does a good job of holding the bottles.

How much wine do you have now!!?

We too have a similar dilemma, as our existing racks with 24 spaces (only!) are not enough and we have an overflow of bottles in the cupboard which is just... so uncivilised!

It has got to such an extent that I have actually started working on the basement to have a seriously serious wine rack in a suitable cellar setting.

Unfortunately I am lazy, so I have resorted to plan B...

Funko

Our previous racks had 31 spaces between them...

Peak wine was 70 but now about 67. Dunno where the others went. :cute:

Wine just evaporates in our house, it's weird.

That's what caused this problem in the first place.

mr_B
21-11-2008, 12:01:08

Tizzy
21-11-2008, 12:01:10
I wouldn't really describe it as a problem....

mr_B

Funko

They did but the damage to our credit cards was severe.

He will.

I am going to have to try harder with my was series. This thread is heading towards success and therefore failure. :(

I was sure you were going to abandon the wine rack idea and just drink it until what was left fit on the existing rack. The story took an unexpected turn.

That would have been the more practical (and therefore lazy) solution...

Drinking 39 bottles of wine is not easy.

Tizzy

It's a tough job but someone's got to do it.
I'll volunteer.

That would have been the lazy thing to do therefore I'm baffled as to why he didn't do it. :clueless:

It would also have been the messy option and therefore unacceptable.

Cleanup would make it not so lazy, then.

the lazy option is to leave the wine bottles on the floor, or on a convenient wine table for convenience. the true apathete would then invite a slightly-less-lazy guest over to open them when required.

There's something wrong there.

After you've drunk the overflow wine, fitting anything anywhere would have become a cumbersome and overwhelming task.

excellent!

after all, "Olympic" is naturally associated with "calm" rather than with "effort"
