Perhaps you'll like my summary of Canadian politics then.

I have this image of you trading spots with the politician now. Shewfelt in the background doing therapy for an injury. Wow...it's like Alaska or something. It all comes together. Everyone knows Asher.

Shewfelt went to my gym in Calgary (University of Calgary).

I'm in Toronto these days and I work out at the University of Toronto. The Athletic Center is in the heart of the socialist haven in Toronto with all of the artsy artists and unemployed bums and radical students. It's Layton's homebase.

You're always a little different. Even among the different.

I've also met Olivia Chow, his wife.

But this was back in 2004. I was at a friend's apartment in downtown Toronto and smoking a bowl when she came by. She was campaigning or something. She said she wished she could join but she had to continue going door to door. She's a nice lady.

Do you know Steve McIntyre or Ross McItrick?

Asher

No.

Actually I just remembered, the only other quasi-famous person I've met at the gym was one of the finalists for the current Canadian Idol. And this guy is flaming gay and a total creep in the locker room. Fact.

I don't go to school at the UofT. I just use their gym since it's a block from work and at a subway station.

Outside of the gym, I've met James Gosling and Preston Manning on campus.

Not that I think you know who they are.

And at work, the building I'm in hosts the rooftop party for the MuchMusic Video Awards so I've "met" (translated: been within 20 feet of) a bunch of pop stars that I don't give a shit about.

I also shared an elevator with Pinball Clemens at work and the singer of the supergroup Supernova (who sucks).

I'm a regular famous person seer at my usual hangouts.

Through work I have met Ray Ozzie.

Steve would play squash with you. He was a champ at one time.

One of my coworkers out of New York is ranked 27th in the US in Squash or something. That's still pretty impressive.
