What it says in the title.

Copious amounts of beer/cider followed by dodgy chinese and cheap red wine.

A month's notice is long enough right? No excuses.

paiktis
19-08-2008, 21:56:13
I will be on vacation at that period of time and meyhaps the fares would be ridicoulously cheap because let's face it who'd be going from greece to england in september (scratch that, all the tourists returning home) and i would love to meet you and have 30 beers but what happens if we exchange contacting information and then i am with a girl for more than 2 months. you'd tell her that i write here, or she'll ask how do I know you and then she'll come here read all that stuff and come to the conclusion that i am unstable and dishonest and a womanizer and she wouldn't want to have anything to do with me.
(usually it takes a couple of weeks to find that out for herself)
so even though i'd love to meet you i can't have you ruin my future everlasting brilliant radiating happiness.
but maybe i'd come anyway if i had the money

:cute:

Personal situation is irrelevant, but since you asked, my obesity is spawning new problems, after hypertension and hyperuricemy, this year my liver too began to get fatigued, and a peak in gilcemy made the doctor fear for a type II diabetes onset

I had reduced drinking anyway, in 2008 I only got 3 or 4 beers, and even a little bottle lager makes me tipsy, then knackered for one day

soooo.....

I'll be there in spirit!

Provost Harrison
04-09-2008, 10:47:40
Which spirit, tequila or vodka?

But yeah, it was fear of ending up with those kinds of health problems that made me go on the most monumental fitness drive over the past year, so good luck, it is hard work! Now I'm a shadow of my former self...

BTW great mention for our normal CG chinese eating place:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2008/sep/07/restaurants.foodanddrink

Generally I am a little suspicious when Chinese restaurants are venerated solely because so many of the customers happen to be Chinese. I've seen a whole bunch of Chinese people eating at Wong Kei in Soho. That doesn't mean it isn't one of the grimmest Chinese restaurants in Britain, staffed by some truly nasty, aggressive people who have turned intimidating their customers into a sport.

Not good enough to intimidate a mr_g too drunk to notice though.

Funko
10-09-2008, 15:26:45
And it does mean that you can turn up at 8pm on a Saturday and ask for a table for 13 and they'll intimidate smaller parties out of your way.

I thought I saw mr.G in the street crowds at one point, but I couldn't catch up.
