Wait, this is not normal occurrence on buses and coaches? Damn, maybe I should have stopped the bus and called the cops those times...

There's not much you can do when you're roused from your sleep and the guy's already stabbed the victim in the throat a few times. At that point the best course of action was to evacuate everyone else and lock the fucker in the bus until the cops come.

If this happened in the states, I'm sure it'd been a mass murder thanks to guns.

There is a silver lining to this story -- the two main witnesses whose testimony is all over the radio and TV news have the most funny, stereotypical Canadian accent and colloquialisms possible. One is from Nova Scotia, the other is some rural hick. "Buddy had his head cut off eh", etc.

He is clearly a terminator.

Do you have the audio?

Best bus-related incident we can manage is this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/dorset/7534912.stm

I apologise in advance about the lack of heads being cut off.

This had just happened (http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9E02E4DB1F3DF937A35753C1A9679C8B 63) before we took several trips on Greyhound.

After the metal detector in El Paso discovered about a quarter of our fellow passengers were carrying weapons, I could understand why.

I'm sure the Jason Vorhees of Canada will barely see any jail time either thanks to the polite left wing Candian courts.

Shining1

Or he could just plead temporary insanity and avoid jail entirely like in the U.S?

Asher
02-08-2008, 19:34:31
Apparently he engaged in cannibalism infront of the cops as well.

He's got a very good chance of pleading insanity, and instead of going to jail go to a high security mental institution for the rest of his life.

I don't know about the rest of you but this brutal attack was enough to turn my stomach. I know there are many sick things that happen but this just seemed to be one that would have been easy to be in the same, mundane situation and for this vicious slaying to occur.

About the victim: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080802.wmclean0802/BNStory/National/home

5'5, 125lbs? Maybe this guy picked an easy target, he was twice this guy's size...

I just realised. This gives new meaning to getting head down the back of the bus.

Don't you Australians have any more critical laws to enforce? After all, there can't be a lack of work for your police, you are all descended from criminals after all :p

Prisoners, prison guards, and sailors...no wonder it's the buggery capital of the world.
