One for Greg, here.

What is it about bus drivers here that they insist on running the heater of the bus even when the temperature is more than 25 degrees.

Do they do that in Sydney too?

Er, no. We have to run the air conditioning all the time, however.

What, even when it's hot?

Yeah, though on some of the buses when it gets hot the A/C can't cope, and it gets to 30 degrees little c inside the bus.

"the stories of Little C inside the bus" could be the title of a kid book series"

actually, it should be "little high O big C"

:p

Nah, that sounds too much like Ohio.

Hmmm..
"What Little C got up to on the back seat of the bus"

A bus driver once told me they can't change whether the heater is on or off. The decision to put it on is made by the engineer or whoever in the morning before the bus leaves the garage. So if it's cold at 5am or whenever they might decide the heater needs to be on, even if it's going to be roasting hot during the day.

(This may not be true and/or may have changed in the many years since...)
