Don't have the screaming tv and radio ads trying to cash in on the EC2008. Don't have the streets filled with country flags and other commercially pushed material in support of your team. Don't have the papers and internet newssites discuss the haircuts, injuries, girlfriends and other nonnews about the players.

And it only will begin on june 7. I really like football, and really support Holland when they play. But I don't like all the flagwaving and agressive commercialism. Every single radio ad features a very fake, very excited live football commentary voice telling me what a FANTASTIC deal the new plasma tv is.

Russia, Greece and something else.

some EC2008 commercials we see here are atrocious

for instance:
30 seconds of a lone cow grazing on a mountain pasture, with a farmer slowly approaching to milk it, all commented by a football speaker in the style of an exciting goal chance...

They were going to launch a joint bid with Scotland weren't they?

MOBIUS

Apparently. We probably need Cardiff in the Premiership though (because then they have plans to extend the new stadium that is currently being built).

MOBIUS

Therefore highly unlikely!

a joint bid by two non-bordering nations would also be a first, if I'm not mistaken

MoSe
