Yes, and the finance department that ran their pension scheme used to be as thick as pigshit. They were a nightmare. I've never been happier to lose a multi-million-pound scheme.

Cement companies may be international but cement markets tend to be local.

indeed, cement is always produced locally to serve local markets, too expensive to move around, so Lafarge, like Cemex has been in the forefront of the "internationalisation" of the French (or Mexican) economy (like Air Liquide, same logic for domestic gaz).
