Call me thick but despite knowing he was touring with an up and coming band, I didn't know it was Does It Offend You Yeah, despite the fact that I have bought your album, and most of my indie friends love you...

Ah, it's so nice to see the good old firebrand of ignorance is still at work!

It is a really good album though.

I'm surprised you didn't recognise protein from his picture in the album sleeve.

Incidentally, Kitsuki- that girl who has occasionally had your penis in her mouth? She's also your girlfriend! Who'd'a thunk it?

yeah, it's weird isn't it? i keep getting weird stuff going on. people appearing who i haven't seen for years wanting to be my friend again now they realised my band's slightly known. my housemate's friends don't believe she lives with me and they want to come round for tea so they can meet me. just because i'm in a band. if they met me they'd be so disappointed! i think they expect people in bands to be all drugs and sex but i'm all radio 4 and gardening nowerdays.

Greg W
16-05-2008, 05:58:56
See, all those people pretending to be your friends, unlike all us real friends here at CG. :cute:

Well, in the pub yesterday I claimed to know you but none of my friends believed me... :(

By the way I completely neglected to say congratulations on your obvious success! :)

There's a lot to be said for gardening, just wish I had a bigger garden and more sunlight :(

mr_B
18-05-2008, 21:55:28
more sunlight in England , jes jes sunny sunny England

Greg W
19-05-2008, 03:23:32
Nah, if they had more sunlight, it'd get above 25 degrees (little c) more often and they'd have to shut the whole country down.

Funko
19-05-2008, 07:50:02
If we had extremes of weather we'd also have all the stuff you need to cope with it. Like air conditioning.

Greg W
19-05-2008, 08:19:13
At 25 degrees?

Funko
19-05-2008, 08:25:12
I thought that was a joke. It's been hotter than that already this year and it's only May.

Greg W
19-05-2008, 08:30:27
Nah, just a reference to an old post where someone (from Britain and on this forum obviously) complained about it being stinking hot, and it turned out to be 25 degrees.

Funko
19-05-2008, 09:10:21
It just depends what you are used to doesn't it. It doesn't get much hotter than that here. It'll get up to 30 occasionally.

On the other hand pretty much all the Australians here complain bitterly about our extremely mild winters and freak out when they see snow, but if we mention that it's cold the Canadians make fun of us.

We basically live in the perfect climate. It's great.

Kitsuki
19-05-2008, 09:15:42
Gulf stream climate for the win.

Complaining about the weather is essentially one of our most important national pastimes.

actually, the degrees symbol is always the , as with the angles (for instance, 90 is paradigmatic for a buttfuck-prone inclination).

For temperature degrees, you then add a BIG letter after the

Oh my, I never realised that complaining was an essential part of it.

I make a point of NEVER complaining about the weather, and I already feel as an alien amongst my coworkers.

Do you think you'll ever get bored of playing the same stuff over and over again?

It was really weird earlier, I was at the zodiac waiting for the ting tings and they started playing 'lets make out' in between the cheesey dance 'classics', so you must have made it :p

In Swindon, the only decent indie night around actually lists you amongst about 15 other bands as something you should expect to hear:

Cassette Player is Swindon's little treasure of a night held in the truely great Suju Night Club in Old Town.

The night's only music policy is 'Good Music' playing a whirlwind of indie, electro, funk, soul, rock and everything that falls in the cracks. Things you can expect to hear...
Justice, Strokes, Rolling Stones, Dizzee Rascal, Boyz Noise, Daft Punk, Libertines, Foals, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Chromeo, Beastie Boys, RATM, Marvin Gaye, Arcade Fire, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Wombats, Jack Penate, Devo and much oh so much more.

Last time I went they played two of your tracks. :)
