There are 18 tracks on the album at the moment. Just over half of them are rock based I would say.

I can't tell you what's on it because it will give things away. Thought it might be interesting to predict...

7!

An interesting prediction bearing in mind I went for 15. :D

In some ways I hope it'll be 18.

Snapcase

And I hope I'll love all 18 indiscriminately as if they were my own precious babies. :D

I found when I was recording this that I don't actually own very much metal.

Naw, it's all "Alternative", isn't it? Stupid pixies and their quiet-LOUD aesthetic.

Funkodrom

quiet LOUD is great.

Funkodrom

I don't have that much alternative either though. I don't have a huge amount from any genre really, a lot of odd things.

FunkyFingers

I reckon all of them as they'll all fall outside Snappys narrow focus of likingness sub-genres!

Mikeh - dont' suppose you could furnish me with said complication cd?

Vincent Fandango

just burn the genres on CD and throw the music in the microwave oven and do the crazy handjive.

Aye. I'll burn an extra one, will be coming to your house the day of the meeting anyway. Adam Bomb already has one.

Mike - cool!

I went for 17, he had to like one of them. Oh well. :bash:

At least they did it with a bit of fire and imagination. You could blame them for an avalanche of mediocrity, but it’s not their fault so many other people took the raw energy out of it.

True. They pulled it off pretty well. So did a few of the early-nineties Grunge bands. It's all downhill from there...

It wasn't a "quiet-loud aesthetic". They wouldn't have known an aesthetic if it popped their dicks in it's mouth.

They just fucking went for it on choruses, and that's generally a good thing.

I personally think one should go for entire songs. Possibly notch up one on the choruses, yes, but energy energy all the way through!

Sean

That reduces the effect. How scary would Like Herod be if it was that loud all the way through?

Snapcase

I don't like scary. Mummy. :nervous:

I voted 18, and I thought I was being optimistic.

walruskkkch

I would have voted 20.

A wise vote.

:D

I'm listening to the CD now and there are a couple of songs like that.

I feel evil giving it to you but I absolutely love this CD.

Funkodrom

I'm making another copy for myself. :D

Yep... that looks like what I have. :D

I haven't been able to listen to your CD yet. Was going to do it at work today but I'm on support so no music all week. Bugger. I'll listen to it at home but shall we do my CD as the first part of the article?

Snapcase
20-05-2002, 11:05:33
Er, fine. I can deal with that.

I'm surprised at how remarkably similar large portions of the two CDs are, considering we've approached them from supposedly opposite viewpoints.

Funkodrom
20-05-2002, 11:07:02
I was hoping that would happen. :D Did you recognise anything?

Snapcase
20-05-2002, 11:08:47
Not as such. Other than the odd cover. And when I say odd...

Funkodrom
20-05-2002, 11:10:55
 Vincent's suggestion. I didn't think you'd recognise it though. It's very different from the original and I didn't think you'd be that familiar with the original. Unless there is another cover that I forgot about.

Funkodrom
20-05-2002, 11:17:18
OK, I decided to be naughty and get my headphones to listen to this now. :D

Funkodrom
20-05-2002, 12:58:48
We've both put the most extreme song on our CD after one of the most chilled songs.

Snapcase
20-05-2002, 14:14:10
Of course. That's what you're supposed to do, isn't it? :D

Snapcase
20-05-2002, 14:18:50
Okay, I'm writing the review now. No turning back...

Funkodrom
20-05-2002, 14:20:49
Cool. I've made notes as I went through on first listen and I'm going to go back and update it when I've listened a few more times.

DaShi

What's wrong with you?
