Hey, if I get a new laptop with Vista as the OS, am I going to regret it?

Venom

No. Because you're too stupid to know any of the differences.

the rest of us are laughing at you, though

EVE will not run on Vista, at all

I am pretty sure this isn't correct.

Venom

You only get real help in the tech forum.

Lurker the Second

That's wishful thinking.

Yeah, go ahead and get it. The follow up threads in this forum about the problems you're having will keep us all amused.

For home use/gaming I think it's absolutely fine.

I have a new laptop with Vista.

It can run Civ:4 without completely crashing out.

You probably aren't going to regret it unless you want to do anything fun with your laptop.

This is why you always mock in these threads unless they're in the tech forum.

The door hinge to the Tech Forum was old, rusted and creaky. I was afraid to use it.

Venom

You and that door hinge have a lot in common.

I should warn you Lurker, screwing your laptop invalidates the warranty.

The number of times I've seen "unknown thick fluid found on circuit board" on a workshop report paints the true picture.

Tech-savvy users cover their keyboards with cellophane, but I know what you mean. This will be Mrs. Lurker's laptop, though, so I'm really hoping we don't have that problem. Really, really hoping.
