(But it made me laugh)

How many mice does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Two, if they're small enough.

The inert gas contained in the glass bulb would slowly suffocate the little creatures were they to attempt to engage in reproductive coitus. I can see the pleasure of their asphyxiation slowly turn to agonised squealing, hyperventilation that uses up the last of the available oxygen until they finally become unconscious and then expire. Ho ho ho.

Of course, one could break a hole in the light bulb but the tungsten filament would oxidise and in all probability the glass would shatter quite violently during diffusion. The little bodies would be cut open by a hundred razor-sharp shards that would extinguish all life and leave a bloody mess of meat, brains and fur. Ho ho ho.
