well, she looks like a full grown cat even though she's just a y ear old. but then again, i'm not sure if one year old cats are still supposed to look like kittens.

she's got brownish gray fur with black stripes. She looks like a tiger at times. lol.

Hi DM!

Cats basically take between a year and two years to get to full size, and are classified as cats rather than kittens after a year. So it probably won't get much bigger.

you have to say that for him: average academic credentials, low pay (in the industry), average career curve (spent way too much time in back office), and still, on his own, fucked royally the battallions of supposedly very smart people working above him. The only disapointing thing; the idiot didn't make a dime for himself.

Dyl Ulenspiegel
25-01-2008, 16:16:35
I'm not sure whether I buy the official SocGen story. Maybe someone higher up the hierarchy really screwed up and the very very average guy is the fall guy de jour.

maroule
25-01-2008, 16:27:33
it's a fairly widespread opinion here
if it is the case, they probably gave the fall guy a good reason to shut up, because he is free, and all the media are chasing him right now to get his side of the story

Dyl Ulenspiegel
25-01-2008, 16:39:47
Well, even if his action was not criminal, he may still be liable for some of the damage - and doesn't matter much whether he is the real culprit on the hook for 5 billion, or just a little fall guy for 50 million.

Maybe he even gets a bonus.... that would be the least under Wall Street standards.

There's a guy at work who got taken to court by the RSPCA for cat abuse, his cat got really ill and he just basically left it to die. Didn't bother taking it to the vet to get treatment, just waited for it to use up its 9 lives and die. we don't like him anymore (http://www.foxfm.co.uk/article.asp?id=498672)

Ok, i finally learned what whinging means, but what is a Pom?

Funko
18-02-2008, 09:37:35
A british person.

The term pommy or pommie is commonly used by speakers of Australian English, New Zealand English, South African English and Afrikaans. It is often shortened to pom. The origin of this term is not confirmed and there are several persistent false etymologies, most being backronyms.

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) strongly supports the theory that pommy originated as a contraction of "pomegranate".[1] The OED also suggests that the reason for this is that pomegranate is extinct Australian rhyming slang for immigrant; it cites an article from 14 November 1912, in a once-prominent Australian weekly magazine The Bulletin: "The other day a Pummy Grant (assisted immigrant) was handed a bridle and told to catch a horse." A popular alternative explanation for the theory that pommy is a contraction of "pomegranate", relates to the purported frequency of sunburn among British people in Australia, turning their fair skin as the colour of pomegranates.[2] However, there is no hard evidence for the theory regarding sunburn.
