The love of the Irish Accent.

Went out on Friday night for a few drinks with a mate who was down from the north. Another mate turned up with his new girlfriend, and when they headed off to a party, I tagged along seeing as the original mate was catching the train back north shortly. Upon where I met an Irish girl with the best accent evah! I could (and did) sit there listening to it for hours on end.

Now if only I hadn't been so drunk that I didn't get her phone number, and thus need to be attempting to chase it up through friends of friends.

Amy Winehouse? (although no Irish accent)

The accent starts off sounding like music but in the end it'll be telling you to mow the lawn, take out the trash, and clean the den.

Er, no it won't. We don't have dens. :p

I love the Irish accent. And the Scottish.

Dang, seems she must have been a ring in as nobody seems to know who she was. :(

Might try going back to the same pub to see if I can run into her again, but then I'm working late shifts now (aka finishing round midnight), so I'm not so sure that's going to work. Damn me for being rather inebriated and not asking her for her number at the time. :(

You get a terrifying sense from that post that that chick is about to take off even more clothes...

Um... That's a picture, Ned, not a post. :p

Though I must agree with the sentiment.

Well, went back to the pub tonight, just on the off chance she was there again. Unfortunately, no luck of the Irish for me, guess it wasn't meant to be. :(

You could go again another day? Yeah, but it was a long shot to start with, as I had no idea if she had ever been there before, or would ever go again.

On the other hand, she could go there 6 days a week and you just missed her.

Or she's good at hiding.

The pub's not that big. :p

I get your point, however it's just a long way out of the way for me, and a fairly small chance. I may pop back in one day, but we'll see. Maybe I just need to travel to Ireland, then I could listen to that accent all day. :gotit:

The irish accent is brilliant.

Aye, it just sounded so cool coming from her mouth. Thinking back, I think she's the first Irish lass I have ever talked to. Scots, yes, Poms, yes, but never an Irish lass.

My mother's maiden name was Hickey - according to an old Irish cowie, about as Irish as it gets. Except thay came over generations ago and buggered if I could be bothered chasing them down. Could make for a good excuse though.

Yeah, it is very Irish.
