I really liked it.

I was of the opinion that since Rushmore (probably one of my absolute favourite films) every Wes Anderson film had been worse than the previous one, and The Life Aquatic was so pointless and dull and self indulgant that I've never been able to watch it all the way through, but The Darjeeling Limited is a real return to form.

Probably most comparable to The Royal Tenenbaums in terms of theme, but with a far less convoluted plot (some may argue there isn't really a plot), it's a shorter, less bloated, easier to enjoy film. The camera work is excellent, with loads of Andersons trademark set piece tracking shots (I know some people think these are really annoying and smug, but I think they're great), and the external location shots and colour palette seem to be a tribute to the camera work on 1980s BBC travel programs. Dialogue is really funny and acting is really good etc.

Hmm, I didn't really mean to write this much. Watch it, it's good.

You really liked it and gave it a 6? Man, you've got high standards!

Haven't seen Rushmore yet, actually enjoyed Life Aquatic and liked the Royal Tennenbaums. Where would that put me?

Meant to see it at the movies and can never be bothered getting videos out. One day I suppose I'll see it on TV.

Royal Tenenbaums was on BBC1 last night. At about 1am. I don't think you'll ever see Rushmore on UK tele at a normal hour (except maybe Film4/Sky Indie).

The DVD costs about 6 in HMV, it's well worth it.

I preferred Rushmore, the Life Aquatic and the Royal Tenenbaums.

Still a 6 though.

If it was on a plane they probably cut it to shreds.
