See... at the least this thread can generate some entertainment on the possibilities of answers. :)

Ned, he recieved a 252 mil contract in 2000, for 10 yrs. He had the option to opt out of his contract after 7 years and become a free agent again. He has had lots of great seasons after he signed the contract but hasn't performed in the postseason as he has done during the regular season and in NY , wrt the Yankees... you are judged more on the post season results than you are on your regular season performance and this is where he is lacking.

Thanks but Lowell is fine, grew up in the yankees farm system IIRC and won with the Sox, that's nice :D
