Soon it'll be time for his midlife crisis...

Btw, which island?

13-10-2007, 13:03:07
What's the world coming to? Paiktiss has a girl want him and he doesn't make a move? Oh, the shame... The shame...

15-10-2007, 09:41:36

was it a deliberate choice, were you forced to be confined there, or what else drove you there?

will it be seasonal or permanent?
will there be accommodation for a bunch of gay twats in the summer?

15-10-2007, 22:58:55
Too long, hairy fooker. Give me the Cliffs note's version before I get all History049 on your ass.

15-10-2007, 23:02:13
Ok...I read it. It was actually ok. May I go boom boom shake the room with your passed up girl?

16-10-2007, 08:31:41
a passed-up girl and a passed-out guy, what a wonderful combination

16-10-2007, 09:24:08

Tryin' to get away from the things you've done
Now you're back again, and you're feeling strange
So much has happened, but nothing has changed
You still don't know where you're goin'
You're still just a face in the crowd

You belong to the city
You belong to the night
Livin' in a river of darkness
Beneath the neon lights

You were born in the city
Concrete under your feet
It's in your blood, it's in your moves
You're a man of the street

The adventure is over already, and we were just discussing on sat night how it would inevitably all go horribly wrong.

It's such a shame it didn't end with the ritual burning in a wicker effigy we were predicting. :(

31-10-2007, 10:30:46
Although it would have been hard for him to post an update about that.

31-10-2007, 10:31:07
Can you get Wi-Fi in wicker effigys these days?

31-10-2007, 10:36:53

Very quickly, cos I have to run off to work.

Take a sabbatical. Go on an extended holiday if you have the money. And find out just who you are. You aren't your father, and that barb about you being the reason he wasn't there is probably blaming you for his own mistakes. Honestly, how can a child be responsible for the actions of a parent?

But, you need to sort out what you want, and what you need. I think that maybe a part of you did want that island, but you're just not prepared to accept it yet because you're not comfortable enough with who you are, and you don't know what you want.

Paiktis, in a most unCG turn of events I will offer what little words of wisdom I have for you. You have never and will never be able to control your father's actions nor are you responsible for his actions. A father doesn't abandon his child and the woman he's had a child with because of anything the child has done, he abandons his family due to a failing all his own. Realize your biological father is a piece of crap unworthy of your time of day and then go on with your life.

As KG said remember that you are a man now, a fully grown adult, who has the freedom and the power to make your own future. Just remember how the decisions your parents made effected you when you were growing up and resolve not to do the same to your own family when the time comes.

If you truly feel you were in error to move to the islands, and I wouldn't rush to admit that since you might not have given it enough time to see if or how it could work, then return to Athens. Go to the newspaper boss and humbly tell him he was right, things on the island weren't how you imagined them, and then ask if he still has an opening for you. He'll probably be touched that someone would admit they were wrong and might even offer you a job. Make sure to give the island a real chance before you do that though.
