we should have a saudade day here every year

On that day the site would be renamed ContraBrilho, and we'd be listening to Fado while eating bacalhao, dreaming to be in Lisboa

if you want to blame someone for this thread, it was inspired by maroule

I had a picture of myself reading a Pessoa book in portuguese sitting at the table with his statue at Cafe a Brasileira

and Barrio Alto is my favorite neighborhood there, I'd be happy to live there

I didn't eat a Papa Ašorda tho...
maybe it was above my budget at the time....
btw, I traveled Portugal (in '89) using a french "Guide du routard" guide!
(I gave a lift to a french hitchiker in Faro on my first day there, while he was instead ending his trip, so he left me his guide in exchange! :D)...

aahhh, memories.... aaaahhh.... saudade!

Yeah, Lisbon is a cool, dreamy, end of the road starring at the ocean kind of place
