Anyone played it (beta test) so far?

do you think its just a coincidence that Electronic Arts and Early Alpha are both EA?

This makes me very suspicious

Conflicts between developers and the vague direction of the game were said to be the causes of this dramatic change. 20% of the original team were replaced and 75% of the code had to be redone.

On the other hand: That's how IT works

I was planning on preordering this game. I like the idea that you can create clones of yourself at designated levels 10,20,30 etc and choose different class paths, and still save your old character. Instead of having to restart with brand new alts every time. The combat is supposed to be better than the standard mash button approach, but probably not as good as AoC is claiming to be. And the science fiction mmorpg setting is intriguingl; I really liked playing anarchy online. So I'll at least give this one a shot.

Edit:
Also no other MMO's worth trying are coming out until Spring (WH and AoC).

Yep, SciFi is cool. No more dwarves and orcs please

I want to see dwarves and orcs in space!

Buy WoW and go to Netherla ... ah, Netherstorm.

That place is full of Elves and Taurens and Undead and Gnomes. Nary an Orc or Dwarf in sight. =/

Doh, the dwarves are in the Netherlands

I signed up to try this one out in beta, but only recently. I'd be a bit surprised if I hear back about that. From reviews I've read and watched, it looks like it has a chance of being good - more real-time-combat feeling than most, and sci-fi rocks (I echo Havoc on most points).

The reviews on Scrapheap-challenge (Eve website) says that it is sort of bad. Like decent combat, but repetitive and no point in the long temr.

On the other hand that's what WoW is

I hate the combat in the Sims

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't trust a site about Eve to tell me how good a game is.

I have agreed with most of their judgements so far. Many of them like WoW and LOTRO, for example.

"Roleplaying just got more intense"

HOPE THE GAME IS BETTER THAN THEIR AD! =)
