I played a LOT of WoW in 2005 and 2006. Took a 3 months break 2006. The kids asked me to play again and I played a little on various servers until May 2007.

Well, all the WoW players know how addictive the game it is.

Eventually I bored and stopped playing.

The shocking part is, I don't miss the game itself. The game mechanics, the victories, the items, the cool characters, the story, being part of the worls wide community.

I miss playing with some of the more relaxed players though - like Zmama and Shakey - and feeling home in an alternate world - it always was like a short (?) holiday.

However, the game itself became absulutley irrelevant and after a few months I started to feel very strange when some of my cowies talked about WoW.

Somebody asked me: what about your valuable chars, don't you have the feeling you lost something?

Not at all. Strange

Yeah, I play MMOs (other then EVE) for the people. When I stop playing with my freinds (or even the frenids I make in game), the MMOs lose interest.

Single player games, like Civ, are better games then the MMOs. If people weren't a factor, I wouldn't touch the MMOs (but maybe EVE).

This is the reason why I generally only play for acouple months at a time, btw.
