I watched the "Stones in the Park" DVD this weekend.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rolling-Stones-Park/dp/B00005955K

There were a few points I want to mention here

* The director was crap. A lot of generic cuts to the stoned audience and cheesy fast-zoom-in-zoom-out tricks.

* During the interviews Jagger does the moron (or is he?).

* When he recites that stupid poem in memoriam to Brian Jones he acts like a fascist teacher

* It's a good idea to tune guitars

* They sound like a band of 14 year old untalented kids

* There is no magic, no energy, no idea of music.

The best thing of the DVD is the steel box

Oh, and the Hells Angels shown are cute boys in a nazi outfit. Easy to understand why the Stones hired them, they wanted a more satanic image.

As opposed to the ones that did the dirty in San Francisco (or was it LA?)

I've seen other fine examples of their performances and it was much better:

* They sound like a group of bored studio players
* There was the magic of money

Especially the Love You Live stuff is extremely different terrible.

And that's the best you can say about "The Stones in the Park":

At least Mr. Jaggers doesen't do much of his ridiculous on-stage gymnastics.

I had to laugh at the interview part when he said they were so much better on stage than the Beatles (they're a studio band - oh, wow! Insights!)
