This weeks kerrang had Pitchshifter reviewing Gamecube games. They gave Super Monkey Ball 1 K and said it would be fun if you were a 3 1/2 year old japanese girl.

I can't think of anything much more pointless than getting rockbands to review games and it was a terribly bad featyre but I thought that was funny in this context.

FunkyMingers is Sony's bitch.

I don't even have a PS2 :p

Must admit, I'm fed up with PC gaming - all that constant upgrading, patching, re-booting, downloading, upgrading, patching, re-booting, downloading...

Since I bought my P2-350, I have bought a total of 4 graphics cards and doubled the RAM capacity. All for what? I still can't run any new games and I have to delete something when I want to install something new, having now only 300megs free on the HD.
I should just buy a PS2 and be done with it.

There are other consoles out there.

03-05-2002, 13:06:19
Since i bought my ps2 it has had considerably less play time than my dreamcast which IMHO has a far superior canon of games.

I won't wait for the good PS2 games forever - Gamecube, XBox: the ball is in your court...

Halo is a sweet game for the X-Box.

03-05-2002, 16:58:41
Well, I will have to buy GameCube, just for any Nintendo and Rare games. I will have to buy the PS2 for an ISS/PES variant, and I don’t want that hoofing great X-Box anywhere near me.

It also has much better adverts than the X-Box and (arguably) the PS2.

Funky: Gaystation 2?

Following last month's rather shocking revelation that Microsoft had originally tapped Sega to develop the Xbox, it's now been revealed that at one point Microsoft was dealing with Nintendo too. In fact, Microsoft was all but set to outright buy the company.

Could be a candidate article for the front page. :gotit:

Not that I'd ever buy a console, but none of the current set seem to offer what I want, which is a modern box with good simple platform/Console RPG games and DVD playback.

03-05-2002, 23:04:02
All have one but not the other.

03-05-2002, 23:34:22
Exactly. Do I go for good hardware, classic Nintendo-Style Games, or DVD Playback? Neither, as it stands now, but that's what's stopping me. Plus the fact that I can't afford it. And that I have other priorities than games. As it stands now, the Gamecube is the closest, especially after Sunshine comes out.

Sean: if you have PES on the PS1 then there's not a huge amount of difference in the gameplay to the PS2 version according to my friend who has both.

04-05-2002, 09:40:15
Really? I heard PES on the PS1 was just like ISS2 and a bit?

Cool! :bounce:.

I'll check that again for you if you want next time I see him.
