I called IT to get my PIN reset for my voicemail, I lost the PIN when I moved to my new office.

I got an email stating the request was closed 2 days later with no other communication or resolution to the problem.

So I call and get a real person on the phone, who thinks one of her colleagues may have called me and left my new temporary PIN number on my voicemail.

So what's your problem?

Very efficient.

Very efficient, not particularly effective. I changed offices two months ago, and had been enjoying the no voicemail, but my boss said if I was going to fill in for him while he was on vacation, I needed to get that fixed. :(

I had hoped it would get me out of doing two jobs, but no luck.

Daily update: I have a new service ticket, still unresolved. They called while I was out at lunch, then emailed me to ask for my fax number, which I sent immediately after returning from lunch. No email response, and no fax. I'm curious as to why any information I need to set up my voicemail can't be emailed to me.

I need a password to log on to my computer and access my email, any one of about 40 people could pick up a fax without anyone noticing anything unusual.

I bet they hate you already and they are right!

I bet they have you down as an annoying user who needs to be taught a lesson.

Service ticket sounds like a fine.

I filled out the survey, but I bet no one reads those. If they link it back to me, they might be mad, but they deserve it for saying the job was done when they had actually done nothing but recieve my service request. They're probably closing requests prematurely to make their metrics look good.

Their closure comment, "took customer voice mail instructions.", i.e., message received, request closed.

I now have noticed that the notification that an email informing me my second request has been closed arrived seconds before my email notification that my second request was opened. :tizzy:
That probably means there's no open ticket to induce them to follow up and actually finish this.

Yesterday this was funny, but I'm starting to get pissed.

No open ticket? So the problem is solved!

No ticket, no problem.

Sent a nice "I realized you don't have an open ticket to remind you, so..." email. Got a fax right away with my voicemail number and PIN reset, unfortunately my voicemail number is not a recognized voicemailbox...

Have these people never heard of email?

They sent an e-mail telling you that e-mail was down, didn't you get it?

this is the same "help" IT service that regularly sends messages that email is down, and email is back up. Those make some sense in that email may go down for a building and people at other locations may be wondering why they aren't getting responses from people working there

but they're still funny

I think Bob is right, they're getting their payback.

I am now awaiting a return phone call.

I'm so glad I don't even understand the problem.

Open a ticket, someone will help you understand

I've been helped, but not like Mr_G.

There are apparently three different phone numbers you can call to access your voicemail. I called the two that won't actually let you access voicemail, but will let you enter your voicemailbox number and tell you it doesn't exist. Silly me.

If they were more efficient all three would let you enter your voicemailbox number and tell you it doesn't exist.

If they would be more efficient (like germans) they would make sure MDA doesn't exist (like germans)
