Seeing as this was the only Guillermo Del Toro film I hadn't seen, I tracked this down last night. It turns out that I liked it even more than "Pan's Labyrinth".

It's a good, old-fashioned ghost story, and it proves that Del Toro is the best director of children in the business. If he'd directed the Potter films, they'd have been masterpieces.

just what is it about fat men with beards that tend to make them good directors?
